If you are feeling adventurous, then head to The Mad Hatter on Sanibel. The restaurant is intimate (only 12 tables) and has a breathtaking view of the gulf. For an especially romantic evening, make reservations for sunset (reservations are a must). This spot is only open for lunch during the tourist season, but dinner fare has been described as "creative gourmet." All the offerings, while exotic, are also delicious. Come hungry so you can have appetizers and dessert. Only beer and wine is offered. Dress is casual, and the dining area is non-smoking.
