East of Tampa near Plant City, you will find a Florida landmark, a timeless spot much beloved by diners who flock here for cooking just like granny's and an atmosphere to match. Operating on a working ranch since 1956, this family-owned restaurant delivers to your big picnic-like table a relish tray, preserved pickles and beets, heaping platters of fresh vegetables, flaky homemade buttermilk biscuits, strawberry jam, baking pans full of summer squash, candied yams, and buttered green beans cooked with country ham. This is followed by entrees of Chicken Pot Pie, ham, beef and lobster. Desserts include Fruit Cobbler, Bread Pudding, ice cream and, of course, Strawberry Shortcake.
