Situated on "Goose Island" in the Chicago River, this micro-brewery/restaurant has made its way into the hearts of Chicagoans and has become something of an institution. This is for good reason. Although Goose Island Brewery serves good food, it is best known for a terrific selection of beers and ales. If you want to try something really special, order a bourbon stout. It is rich and creamy with a hint of chocolate. Be forewarned—these brews pull no punches. You will have to wait for a table if you are planning on staying for a meal, even on weekdays.
