If you have one extravagant meal in Newport, have it at Elizabeth's. Soft, worn overstuffed chairs, weathered, wooden tables and low classic jazz music set the tone for this casually elegant restaurant. The chef is Elizabeth herself, a transplanted New Yorker who concocts enormous platters for two of seafood and chicken dishes. Elizabeth omits butter, salt and sugar from her cooking, but the taste is so exquisite, you would never know. "Bouillabaisse ala Elizabeth" is the melt-in-your-mouth house specialty.
