This not-for-profit orchestra, founded in 1976, is comprised of professionally trained volunteers. Its mission is very simple: to foster music appreciation throughout the community. Fall to spring, the orchestra concentrates on offering classical, young artists, pop, Lollipops and outdoor family concerts. They also have a "Rent-A-Symphony" program that allows area residents and businesses to add beautiful music to their functions while supporting the Symphony. Venues include Carolina Theatre and Cameron Park. Credit cards accepted vary by venue.
