Opened by chef Jim Solomon in 2001, the cuisine served at the Fireplace is chiefly from the New England region. Feast on the Scalloped Oysters with spring leeks and foraged mushrooms with apple-endive slaw ($26) or the Spit-roasted Half Chicken with mashed potatoes and sage brown butter. For dessert, the New England Cheese Plate is a good pick. Fireplace also has a special menu for kids. And if you stop by on a Saturday, you can indulge in wine tasting and alcohol samplings.
