A non-profit organization to nurture and promote African-American culture and arts, this center houses the Paul Robeson Theatre and the Kakilambi African Dance and Drum Troupe and the African World Studies Archives. In existence since 1958 and the first such cultural center in Buffalo, the facility also features classes in drama, dance, percussion, African history, reading and math, and arts and crafts for both adults and children. A special program, Educational Directives, held M-F 2:30p-4:30p, helps inner city kids find ways to better academic, behavior and communication skills.
