The Smith Center is home to the University of North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team. The 300,000 square-foot arena is located on the University's south campus. Along with memorable college basketball moments, the Smith Center has hosted a range of other athletic events including the U.S. Olympic Festival, NCAA Basketball Regionals, and NCAA Wrestling Championships. The Smith Center has also been used for big-name concerts like the Grateful Dead, Bon Jovi, and Bruce Springsteen.
