For the past 21 years, La Chaumiere has been a Georgetown favorite. La Chaumiere has the charm and warmth of a French country inn. White plaster walls and dark, exposed wood beams surround a stone fireplace in the center of the dining room. Brass hangings, decorative wine bottles and floral table cloths add to the room's intimacy. Fresh grilled fish and shellfish are the house specialties here. The chef also makes a delicious cassoulet, which is offered on Thursdays. Hard-to-find entrees, such as Venison, are among the many meat dishes.
