One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. It's hard to beat fresh Atlantic salmon with a little butter and citrus and an elegant view of Lake Union with the downtown skyline in the background. An elaborate brunch is served on Sundays.
