This extraordinary, sunken, city-owned park outside of Orchestra Hall was dedicated in 1975. It's a well-tended inner city haven, complete with big shade trees, flowers, a large reflecting pool, cascading waterfalls and eccentric tubular stainless steel fountains. The plaza really springs to life during MusicFest, the annual summer music festival of the Minnesota Orchestra. The venue also hosts a number of other outdoor concerts of varying genres, as well as events during the city's annual Aquatennial festivities.
The intimate urbane of Peavey Plaza and its sparkling pool is transformed into a dazzling skating rink in the winter.
