The Ahmanson Theatre is part of the Centre Theater Group that includes the nearby Mark Taper Forum. Since its inception in 1967, it has presented major musicals, revivals, dramas and comedies, sometimes featuring television or film stars in leading roles. Five of Neil Simon's plays premiered on this stage. Recent seasons featured 'Titanic' (the Broadway musical without Leonardo DiCaprio), Sir Peter Hall directing two Shakespeare plays: 'Measure for Measure' and 'Midsummer Night's Dream,' tap sensation Savion Glover's 'Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk,' 'Miss Saigon' and the long-running 'Phantom of the Opera.'
