Originally the New Garland Coffee Shop, owner Jimmy Bannos transformed it into Heaven on Seven in 1985 after Jimmy discovered southern cooking. It quickly became the place for Cajun food in the city. The pace is frantic during the week, when Loop-folk jam in for gumbo, soft shell crab, jambalaya and assorted micro-brews.
